Fly Pantera....kinda like your mom!

Hmmmm, where to begin. Back in the day my boy Zach got this ill frame called the Pantera from Fly Bikes, the Sergio Layos model. Zach rode that bike for a little then it broke on him (as did a lot of early Fly frames and parts) Then along came Mike Michaud and his Pantera. He's been riding a V1 for a while and it's dialed. This summer I destroyed my frame and was riding a piece of junk for a while until I could get a hold of something good. None of the new super light frames were appealing to me, and all the frames I liked didn't come with brake mounts so I waited. Then I got to looking at the Pantera and decided it was just what I was looking for. Soon after I had my new bike up and running, I took James Ballard to get his own Pantera in a little smaller size. He's been stoked on the bike too. Now my boy Stan just bought a Pantera all his own and he seems pretty stoked as well. Basically what I'm getting at is that for the amount of money you pay for a Pantera you are getting a hell of a bike. It's pretty light with a low overall height and it's strong to boot. I don't know why everyone doesn't just go online and buy this joint! But don't take my word for it, everyone's riding it!

Zach puts in work

Ahhhh Tuesday! Got out of work and went to Adams School with Seth to see if it was good to ride. It was perect to skate, but far too much salt in the rest of the schoolyard to make it worthwhile on a bmx so I snapped some random photos of Yolanda the G-ride system. Later on at Bath I rode for a few then decided to take some more flicks. I missed a lot of good shit because I was set up on one spot for most of the time and I got like 4000 great shots of Tyler doing the nicest fufanu on that sub, but he never got it. Shitty. Zach basically shut it down doing all kinds of nonsense on the sub and the quarter. At the very end of the sesh he pulled a perfect downside tailwhip and man I wish I got that one! Seth Gould showed up with front brakes and did some nice nosepicks and Rodge was there doing super high ollies out of the mini ramp. Aaron did a sick 360 tailtap over the euro gap at speed too. Backside boneless for life, yo!

Jason Mansfield Workout

Jason Mansfield used to live in a tiny ass apartment all by himself where he made lots of art. We all used to chill there and drink beers and watch Props while we sat on his bed together. Kinda weird, but it was fun. One night Jason decided to do a few curls with the weights to get his bunnyhopping skill up and took a few drags of the bob to get his lung tolerance up. Mmmm cigarettes!

1 night at 43 O'Brion

Oh no

The Burger King king. I forget who sent me this but it's creepy.

James Ballard bike check

Jason Mansfield did a check to see if it was easy to do barspins on James Ballard's Fly Pantera sans front wheel. Pulled it clean first try too.

Enemies of the state

Last night was a chill night at State St. Seth Miller photo op, son!

Grand dad

Seth and Jason are high. This photo is from when Tyler and I went to visit my sister. We got so faded. At least I did....

Rodge update

My boy Rodge got his clock cleaned last Saturday night while at Amigos in Portland. According to Rodge he was getting into it with some guy when all of a sudden the guys buddy hit Rodge in the dome with a cue ball. Bag of dicks.

Vincent!

Ever watch Law and Order Criminal Intent? It's got this witty and kinda creepy character portayed by Vincent D'Onofrio named Detective Robert Goren. You may remember D'Onofrio as Edgar from Men In Black with Will Smith. Ya know, he was the guy who wanted sugar water. Anyway, This Goren guy makes so many weird hand gestures and body twitches when he's talking to people that when they put this guy in the holding cell with criminals I bet they're thinking "is this guy going to molest me?" Seriously, I've seen him get up in peoples grills, whisper into their ear from behind their back, and doing all this while cocking his head to one side like he's having a psychotic break. Sometimes that's just the case too. I mean sometimes Goren just snaps and throws all the shit off his desk without responding to anyone who asks him what the fuck he's doing. To give Goren a Tyler-esque synopsis; He reminds me of a weird classical music conductor who would rather make out with the bad guy than send him to jail.

Smokin' trees!

I'm psyched today because I found these old phots from one day this past summer. They're of Dave and James celebrating Arbor Day thanks to some skaters in Lincoln Park. I remember climbing up in this tree to get some weird angles for photos and that James didn't have his bike so he hopped on mine and aired the hell out of it. Also, James landed a tailwhip off the side of this same setup to flat and cracked my frame. I didn't care cause I was stoked on this.

Jukebox

Good morning. Just listened to Jukebox by Cat Power. It's covers of old songs that are done really beautifully. Chan Marshall is beautiful. If you listened to 'The Greatest' and liked that jam, this is for you.

Took a Bath

Bath skatepark once again. Was a fun time. Me and Dave, the two Zach's and Shaw were present. I pinched my thumb on a blunt because I still run brakes and enjoy that type of shit. Zach T. is whipping like a mother effer doing downside whips on the quarter and regular whips over the hip fast as hell and Shaw continues to do so many different grinds that my head explodes. I fell a bunch after that blunt mishap doing backside-boneless variations, but I won't get into that because it isn't important. Dave does super human wallrides. He is a gorilla though. Chilled at 35 State with that bunch after the sesh and watched The Reaping. That movie is on drugs. Right now I'm at Seth Miller's crib writing this shit and drinking a PBR while we unpack some old stuff he got from his mom's house. Wait a sec....Seth just found some real old treasure so....PEACE!

Yeah!

Skatepark again? Yup it is what it is. Heading up with Dave and I donno who else, but hopefully it will be a good time. Tuesday was a pretty good all bike sesh-lotsa heads there; Stan, Mike Meyers and his buddy Joey, Tyler Way, Big Baby Ballard (sorry!), Rodge, Zach t., Zach from Bath, Steve and Hardcore, Jason Shaw and his sidekick. Good times all around throwin hammers and tryin not to eat shit. James Ballard airs the bowl like he's trying hit the rafters in the ceiling. Maybe I'll take some photos next Tuesday, but not tonight because it might be hectic and my camera battery is dead. Dave Twiss has a 21 1/4 top tube and a freecoaster and rides like he's being chased by aliens.
